Fabienne, 54

I am a musician; I play the viola. I love the blend of the old and the new, with a touch of the ephemeral. I love black-and-white photography, especially the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson.

I’m thinking of Rue Montorgueil in Paris and the Passage du Grand-Cerf. I discovered this place while strolling through the neighborhood. It’s a covered arcade filled with umbrellas. I love the architecture and the idea of people in motion. I’m thinking of an old-fashioned place where you’d see people without really seeing them, represented, for example, by motion blur. This place evokes for me the transition from one life to another. This photograph will be called “The Passage.”

There shouldn't be too many people, but there can be a few people in the photo. The print should be in black and white and taken from a high angle, since this section is high up.

I’m thinking of a wide shot or a close-up—whatever really speaks to you. I love surprises. This photo will be whatever inspires you; I know I’ll love your perspective.
