The trees, the light. I’m thinking of the Vercors. I have wonderful memories of a small village near Grenoble called Saint-Michel-les-Portes. There’s a stream near an old farmhouse called Le Martinet. My grandfather owned that property.
I’d love to see a photo of that stream, but I don’t know if it’s accessible. I really love nature. I used to go there as a child; it’s a childhood memory. We’d spend hours there in the summer near that stream. I haven’t been back in nearly 25 years. The place was bought by a yoga guru. After passing through the village, there’s a path that goes downhill, and at the bottom of that road is this farm.
I’m a photographer. I took my first photo there. The light is absolutely beautiful. I started taking photos when I was a child, mostly of beautiful things. I loved capturing places and moments.
In this photograph, I envision a play of light, and I’d like to feel as though I can hear the water flowing when I look at it. It’s important to understand that this is a torrent. For me, this place represents freedom, happiness, and childhood.
